Magnificent Ambersons (Growth Trilogy Vol 2) Version 2

The Magnificent Ambersons, published in 1918 by Booth Tarkington, is the second novel in the Growth trilogy, which also includes The Turmoil (1915) and The Midlander (1923). The story chronicles the decline of the aristocratic Amberson family over three generations in a fictional Midwestern town, reflecting the socio-economic changes in America from the end of the Civil War to the early 20th century. Notably, it won the Pulitzer Prize in 1919 and has been recognized as one of Tarkington's finest works, illustrating the clash between old money and the rise of industrial tycoons. Orson Welles adapted it into a film in 1942.
