Little Folks (november 1884)a Magazine for the Young

A children's magazine written in the late 19th century. This collection features stories, fables, and educational content aimed at teaching moral lessons and entertaining young readers. The narratives often revolve around themes of bravery, kindness, and the importance of truth, featuring characters that children can relate to or learn from. At the start of the magazine, we are introduced to a scene involving Grandpapa Donaldson and his family, who are unexpectedly detained in a carriage by an officer seeking the Murdochs, mistaken for the Donaldsons. Elsie, the young girl accompanying them, is confused and frightened by the situation. As events unfold, both Mrs. Donaldson and Grandpapa are taken into custody, leaving Elsie distressed and separated from her loved ones. This opening sets a tone of adventure and intrigue as it hints at deeper themes of mistaken identity and the challenges faced in protecting family bonds.
