Kid Wolf of Texas: A Western Story

The Llano Estacado is a punishing place, where a man's word is the only law that matters and silence can mean death. When Kid Wolf hears a cry echo across those vast, staked plains, he rides toward it against every instinct telling him to stay away. What he finds is a man broken by torture, holding on just long enough to deliver a desperate plea: a wagon train is heading into lethal danger, led by a man too proud to see the trap closing around them. The Terror is waiting. Kid Wolf makes a promise. He'll warn them or die trying. But when he reaches the wagon train, the leader named Modoc spits in his face and refuses to turn back. Now Kid Wolf must ride alongside people who hate him, fighting not just the bandits gathering on the horizon but the deadly arrogance of a man leading his family straight into slaughter. Time is running out, and the only thing standing between innocence and annihilation is one young gunslinger with a fast trigger finger and an unbreakable code. This is frontier justice stripped to its rawest elements: a story about what happens when a good man refuses to look away, even when looking means dying. For readers who want their Westerns lean, mean, and drenched in the dust and blood of the open range.
