Jason, Son of Jason

The third and final entry in Giesy's Jason Croft saga opens with death itself as a doorway. Dr. George Murray stands over the body of his patient, the man who called himself Jason Croft, and watches in astonishment as life returns. What follows is a daring leap into the cosmos unlike anything published in 1921: Croft possesses the forbidden knowledge of astral projection, and on the alien world of Palos, he has built another life entirely, with a woman named Naia, and a child on the way. When Naia's pregnancy turns dangerous, Jason summons Murray through the veil of consciousness itself, pulling the doctor into a world of two moons and alien terror. Their child is stolen by the Zollarians, and only Croft's mastery of Earthly invention can breach the walls of another world. Giesy writes with the unapologetic wonder of early science fiction, when the universe still felt like a place of endless possibility and personal stakes. This is a story about love that transcends the boundaries of a single body, a single planet, a single life.
