Happy Hawkins

Happy Hawkins has a voice you won't forget: self-deprecating, quick-witted, and unexpectedly tender. Born in Indiana but bound for the open range, he arrives in the American West with little but his humor and humility, ready to make his way as a cowpuncher. His boss is Cast Steel Judson, a hard man with a soft spot he won't admit to, and Judson's daughter Barbie is the kind of woman who can change a man's plans with a single look. Through a series of wry, often hilarious encounters, Happy learns what it means to hold his ground, keep his word, and love people who make him better than he was. This is frontier fiction without the mythology: no gunfights at high noon, just the slow, sometimes funny work of building a life among people who become family. Wason writes with obvious affection for the West and its characters, and his warmth radiates from every page. For anyone who wants their adventure served with humor and heart.
