Fuzzy Wuzz - A Little Brown Bear of the Sierras

Fuzzy Wuzz - A Little Brown Bear of the Sierras
In the high Sierra Nevada, where trout streams tumble through cedar forests and pikas dart among the snow peaks, a tiny brown bear cub no bigger than a house cat is rescued from drowning by a forest ranger. Named Fuzzy Wuzz, the orphaned cub is brought to live among the ranger's children, where an unlikely family forms around him: an orphaned fawn, a mischievous young burro, a ring-tailed cat, a wise old owl, a golden canary, and a courageous yellow pup. Together in the shadow of thundering waterfalls and sun-baked ridgelines, this band of young animals learns loyalty, survival, and the meaning of companionship. As Fuzzy Wuzz encounters pine squirrels, painted chipmunks, weasels, elk, and the dangerous shadows of cougars and coyotes, natural history becomes inseparable from adventure. This is old-fashioned animal fiction at its best: a gentle, wide-eyed wonder at the wild creatures of the mountains, told with the warmth of a fireside story.
