From an Unseen Censor

What if your eccentric millionaire uncle died on an alien planet and left you to find his body as the first clue to a hidden fortune? That's exactly the predicament facing our reluctant hero in this gleefully odd 1950s adventure. Teaming up with a guide named Rene, he lands on the barren world of Alvarla to search a crashed spacecraft only to discover Uncle Isadore has staged his own death as the opening move in an elaborate treasure hunt. The prize: trees that produce an invaluable perfume. The obstacles: a talking dodo bird who shares the uncle's name, bizarre alien encounters, and most challenging of all, the choice between returning to a comfortable Earth life or embracing a wild, uncertain future. Rosel George Brown wrote this with a wink and a grin, layering adventure over something more poignant: a meditation on what we inherit from the dead and whether safety is worth sacrificing for genuine wonder.
