Fairview Boys at Camp Mystery; Or, The Old Hermit and His Secret

When school lets out after an earthquake delays the semester, three friends with a thirst for adventure get wind of something far more exciting than homework: a hermit living alone on Pine Island, rumored to be hiding something valuable. Sammy Brown, Bob Bouncer, and Frank Haven aren't the type to let a mystery pass them by, even when the locals warn them to stay away. What begins as a dare to uncover the truth becomes a test of nerve as they creep through the woods, outsmart a former bully who's also sniffing around, and ultimately face a moment that demands real courage. The old hermit wants nothing to do with company, but the boys soon discover that people aren't always what they seem, and that doing the right thing sometimes means risking everything. This is old-fashioned adventure at its finest: wholesome, propulsive, and powered by the kind of childhood curiosity that refuses to accept 'no' for an answer.
