El Diablo

The fog rolls in heavy over the harbor, and Richard Gregory answers a midnight summons that will drag him into the dark heart of his fishing community's corruption. Someone is stealing from the sea, and the men who profit from the scheme have carved out their kingdom on the forbidden Island of El Diablo, where the waters run dangerous and the truth stays buried. Gregory gathers Bill Lang and a handful of trustworthy men, and they push into fog-shrouded waters armed with little more than courage and the desperate need to protect their livelihoods from men who will kill to keep their secrets. But there is more at stake than fish: Gregory's absent son has been drawn into this dangerous game, and finding him may mean sailing straight into the heart of the scheme. With Dickie Lang, a woman of remarkable strength, backing the men who risk everything, the novel builds into a gripping tale of maritime adventure, justice, and the bonds that hold a community together against those who would exploit them. This is adventure fiction at its core: a story of ordinary men confronting extraordinary danger on waters that give no quarter.
