Bumper the White Rabbit and His Friends

This gentle 1922 children's tale follows Bumper, a white rabbit who has decided to leave his mischievous ways behind and embrace a new philosophy: instead of outwitting his enemies, he'll befriend them. His first test comes when he encounters Sleepy the Opossum, and rather than playing a trick, Bumper extends an act of kindness by warning his new friend about an approaching lynx. The predator lurks in the shadows of the woodland, and Bumper must find courage not in combat, but in compassion. The story unfolds through a series of small adventures where the rabbit learns that true bravery means caring for others, and that friendship requires vulnerability. Written for young readers aged four to ten, this vintage tale from the Twilight Animal Series captures a simpler era of children's literature, when lessons about kindness and courage were delivered through warm animal characters navigating the dangers and joys of forest life.
