Boy Scouts in Northern Wilds; Or, the Signal from the Hills

The year is 1913. The Boy Scout movement is barely five years old in America, and four Chicago boys answer a call that will take them into one of the last wild places on the continent. They're after the Little Brass God, a stolen artifact that holds the key to an inheritance worth fighting for. From the moment they pitch camp along the Moose River, the wilderness makes clear it won't give up its secrets easily. Mosquitoes swarm. Strange sounds echo through the trees. Then comes the gunshot. Something is watching them. Something doesn't want them to find what they're looking for. This is old-fashioned adventure fiction at its purest: a race through the Hudson Bay country where the real treasure might be what the boys discover about themselves. For readers who love vintage adventure tales, wilderness survival stories, or simply want to step back into a world where courage meant heading into the unknown with nothing but a compass and your pals.
