Bells
"The Bells" is a poem by Edgar Allan Poe, published posthumously in 1849. Notable for its use of onomatopoeia and diacopic repetition, the poem consists of four sections that transition from the joyful sounds of bells to a darker, more somber tone. Each part reflects a different emotional state, culminating in a haunting exploration of life and death. This work exemplifies Poe's mastery of sound and rhythm in poetry.
