A Parody on Patience

A Parody on Patience, written by D. Dalziel and first published in 1883, is a comedic theatrical script that satirizes love and social status. The plot revolves around a love quadrangle involving characters like Grosvenor and the titular Patience, a naive dairy maid. The play humorously critiques romantic ideals and the culture of railway conductors, particularly those of the Chicago and Alton Railroad, using farcical elements and lively dialogue to highlight the absurdities of attraction and societal roles.
