Zwierciadlana zagadka
A mysterious letter arrives from a man claiming to possess the secret of an invention that could change the world. Cezary, impoverished and obscure, insists he is on the verge of recreating a lost breakthrough of civilization-shattering significance. But is he a neglected genius, a deluded dreamer, or something far more dangerous? The narrator and her companion embark on an investigation, conducting interviews and gathering testimony in a narrative that unfolds like an interrogation of truth itself. As layers of the story peel away, the question becomes not merely whether Cezary's invention is real, but whether the boundary between visionary and madman truly exists, or whether we invent those categories to protect ourselves from uncomfortable possibilities. Written in nineteenth-century Poland by the poet Deotyma, this novel plays with the reader's assumptions about credibility, ambition, and the price of believing in the impossible.
