Yesterday's Revenge

In a future scarred by catastrophic wars, humanity has fallen under the iron rule of the Master, a tyrant who commands an army of mechanical servants and wields technology as an instrument of absolute control. But the Master's ambition reaches beyond the ruined present. He has built a machine capable of reaching backward through time itself, seeking to reshape yesterday to ensure his domination endures forever. Against this impossible threat, a small band of rebels discovers they are humanity's last hope, a fragile alliance armed with nothing but courage and a dangerous truth: the past is not yet written. H. L. Nichols wrote this novel in the early twentieth century, imagining a world where the consequences of war lead not to peace but to a dictatorship that eats through time. It's a chilling, prescient vision: power that reaches backward to control the present, revenge that echoes across generations. For readers who wonder how dystopian fiction began, this is a foundational work, raw, pulpy, and unsettling in its logic.
