What Rough Beast?

Written in the mid-20th century by Jefferson Highe, 'What Rough Beast?' is a science fiction novel that critiques education and societal collapse through a dystopian lens. The story follows John Ward, a teacher facing chaos in a future where conventional education has failed, leading to disturbances among students, including a riot with teleporting tigers. As Ward investigates, he suspects that highly intelligent alien children, known as Outspacers, are observing humanity. The novel humorously explores the absurdity of the situation while raising critical questions about the future of education and society.
