Wanderer
Wanderer is the fourth and final novel by Fanny Burney, published in 1814. The story follows Miss Ellis, who boards a ship from France to England during the French Revolution, only to lose her purse and rely on the charity of others. This novel blends elements of mystery and romance, featuring themes of independent women and unrequited love, reminiscent of Jane Austen's works. Despite initial criticism for its political themes and portrayal of women's struggles, it is considered a mature and forward-thinking narrative for its time.
