Vanishing Point

Published in the late 1950s, 'Vanishing Point' by C. C. Beck is a science fiction short story that examines perception, reality, and the nature of art through the experiences of an artist and his friend, Carter. Carter constructs a perspective machine that he believes will reveal the true essence of reality, only to be confronted with the terrifying notion that reality is merely an illusion. The narrative challenges readers to question the boundaries between illusion and existence, making it a thought-provoking exploration of philosophical themes.
