Trachiniai, also known as Women of Trachis, is an Athenian tragedy written by Sophocles in the 5th century BCE. The play centers on Deianeira, the wife of Heracles, who struggles with her husband's neglect and the complexities of their marriage. Concerned about prophecies regarding Heracles, she sends their son Hyllus to find him, only to face further turmoil upon his return with a young slave girl.
