Three Years In Europe

Three Years In Europe
Three Years In Europe; Or, Places I Have Seen and People I Have Met is a collection of letters written by William Wells Brown during his travels in Europe from 1849 to 1854. As a former slave and prominent abolitionist, Brown shares his observations and experiences, highlighting the contrasts between American and European attitudes toward race and freedom. The letters were intended for friends and some were published in The Liberator, an influential abolitionist journal. This work is notable for providing a unique perspective on the anti-slavery movement and the life of a Black man in 19th-century Europe.
