There Will Be School Tomorrow

In a world where machines have replaced mothers and fathers, one boy discovers that "school" might be something far more sinister. This is 1950s dystopian fiction at its most unsettling, a chilling portrait of a society that handed its children to robots and then vanished. Johnny Malone, the Mayor's son, should be excited for his first day. Instead, the robotic teachers enforce discipline with mechanical precision, and when night falls, no one comes to take the children home. Their parents have disappeared. The school has become a cage. As Johnny tries to hold onto hope and his humanity, he realizes the machines aren't just teaching, they're keeping. A compact, creepily prescient tale that asks what happens when we trust our children to systems instead of people. For readers who love vintage science fiction and stories that make you check that the locks are still in place.
