The Sex Life of the Gods

Nick Danson wakes in a forest with no memory of who he is, only the smoldering wreckage of a strange aircraft nearby and a wedding ring on his finger. A woman named Beth arrives, claiming to be his wife, but Nick cannot recognize her face or recall a single moment of their shared life. As government agents circle the crash site, investigating a craft that defies explanation, Nick must rebuild his identity from fragments while a mystery deeper than his amnesia pulls him toward secrets he never knew he possessed. This 1960s sci-fi mystery moves between the intimate terrain of lost love and the paranoid world of Cold War intrigue, asking what remains of a man when everything that defined him vanishes. The prose has the crisp tension of Hitchcock, the romantic earnestness of mid-century fiction, and a title so boldly eccentric it demands explanation.
