The Passaic Flood of 1903

The Passaic Flood of 1903, written by Marshall Ora Leighton in the early 20th century, is a historical account analyzing the catastrophic flood that struck the Passaic River Basin. The book details the causes, effects, and necessary preventive measures following the flood, which was triggered by significant rainfall and led to extensive damage, particularly in Paterson, New Jersey. It explores themes of hydrology and civil engineering, while also referencing previous floods, including that of 1902, and the challenges faced by the river's capacity during such disasters.
