The Medici Boots

A cursed artifact lingers in the shadows of inheritance. The Medici Boots, once worn by a woman of Renaissance Florence's most notorious family, carry a darkness that refuses to stay buried. When collector Silas Dickerson dies and bequeaths his eclectic holdings to relatives, the boots come with a warning that goes unheeded. John Delameter and his wife Suzanne dismiss the ominous note attached to the boots as superstition, but Suzanne cannot look away. She becomes transfixed by them, and something ancient and malevolent watches back. Her behavior shifts in terrifying ways. The boots whisper through her hands, move with purpose, and the violence that follows is neither random nor forgivable. As the household crumbles under the weight of inexplicable events, John must pierce through centuries of shadow to understand what his wife has become and what price the Medici woman paid to make these boots immortal. The horror builds to a breaking point where only destruction can set things right, but liberation always costs something.
