Novels, Science-Fiction & Fantasy

An alien hiding among humans finds something he never expected: a kindred spirit. Mr. Kemper walks through the zoo each day, drawn to the lions with an intensity that unsettles onlookers. He understands them in a way no human can. And they understand him. What appears to be an eccentric obsession conceals something far stranger. Kemper is not what he seems. He carries alien powers he barely comprehends, and he is being hunted by others of his kind who have finally tracked him to this small corner of Earth. The lions in their cage are the only creatures who don't demand he explain himself. When his pursuers close in, Kemper must choose: remain the observer, or become the predator. The confrontation at the lion cage builds toward a violent, elemental reckoning where ancient instincts collide with something far more dangerous than animal hunger.
