The Long Patrol

The frozen earth yields its secrets slowly. When Corporal David Dexter finds Constable Tommy Graves shot dead in the Canadian wilderness, he understands immediately: this is no random tragedy. Someone wanted a cop dead, and now Dexter is all that stands between justice and a killer who has vanished into an endless white landscape. What follows is a pursuit that will test every limit of survival, instinct, and moral resolve. As he follows tracks through frozen silence toward a secluded cabin, Dexter encounters Alison Rayne, a mysterious woman who claims innocence yet flees into the night, leaving more questions than answers. With each step deeper into the bush, the web of intrigue tightens: who is the fugitive criminal behind this violence, and what does the woman truly know? Treynor builds tension like deep frost, slowly, then all at once. The Canadian wilderness becomes a character itself, vast and indifferent, where a man with a badge must rely on nothing but his wits and his will to find the truth before the land claims him too.
