The Infra-Medians
Pete Grahame receives a distress signal from Vic Butler, who has tumbled through the veil of ordinary reality into something far darker. Vic and his sister Hope are trapped in Infra-Media, a shadow dimension that exists just beyond human perception, populated by beings locked in perpetual despair. These creatures, the Infra-Medians, have abandoned any desire to live and crave death as an impossible dream. Pete must venture into this nightmare realm to save the woman he loves and his best friend, navigating a surreal landscape where the boundary between existence and oblivion has collapsed. Written in the early 1930s, this is pulp science fiction at its most imaginative: part rescue adventure, part existential horror, and entirely a product of an era when the universe still felt mysterious and dangerous. The novel asks what happens when we encounter life beyond our comprehension and discover that some fates are worse than death.
