The Ignatian Epistles Entirely Spurious: A Reply to the Right Rev. Dr. Lightfoot

The Ignatian Epistles Entirely Spurious: A Reply to the Right Rev. Dr. Lightfoot is a critical theological work by W. D. Killen, published in the late 19th century. The book challenges the authenticity of the letters attributed to Ignatius of Antioch, which theologian J.B. Lightfoot claims are genuine. Killen argues that these letters are forgeries that support a hierarchical church structure, raising concerns about their implications for historical criticism and ecclesiastical authority. He discusses the historical context of the epistles and critiques the scholarly debate surrounding their authenticity.
