The Enchanted April
Four utterly mismatched British women, each stifled by the dreary expectations of post-WWI London life, impulsively answer a newspaper advertisement for a month-long lease on an Italian castle. There's the timid, neglected Mrs. Wilkins; the prim, pious Mrs. Arbuthnot; the jaded, beautiful socialite Lady Caroline Dester; and the imperious, memory-haunted Mrs. Fisher. Thrown together in the sun-drenched splendor of San Salvatore, their initial friction slowly gives way to an unexpected camaraderie, as the restorative power of wistaria, sunshine, and newfound freedom begins to peel back their carefully constructed facades, revealing the women they were always meant to be.
