The Drone: A Play in Three Acts

The Drone: A Play in Three Acts, written by Rutherford Mayne in the early 20th century, is set on a farm in County Down, Ireland. The play centers on the Murray family, particularly John, his brother Daniel, and John's daughter Mary, humorously exploring family dynamics and the tension between traditional values and modern innovation. As Daniel pursues his inventive dreams amidst domestic challenges and the arrival of a potential new household member, the narrative unfolds in the kitchen, revealing both comedic and conflict-laden interactions among the characters.
