The Anglers of Arz
The Anglers of Arz is a science fiction short story by Roger D. Aycock, first published in January 1953 in ''IF Worlds of Science Fiction''. Set on the alien planet Arz, the narrative follows navigator Arthur Farrell and the crew of the ''Marco Four'' as they investigate the unusual fishing practices of the planet's pinkish, bipedal inhabitants. The story explores themes of predation and moral implications as the crew uncovers the dark reality of the Arzians' role in their ecosystem, revealing a submerged city and the predatory dynamics of the local marine life.
