Tension

Published in 1922, 'Tension' by E. M. Delafield follows Pauline Marchrose, who becomes the Lady Superintendent at a college in South West England. Her competence earns her the admiration of Sir Julian, the college director, and romantic interest from Mark Easter, his agent, who is already married.
