Student Body
Student Body is a science fiction short story by F. L. Wallace, first published in Galaxy Magazine in March 1953. The narrative follows Dano Marin, a biologist tasked with establishing a human colony on the newly discovered planet Glade. Upon arrival, the colonists encounter unexpected ecological challenges posed by a small, rapidly evolving creature known as the omnivore, which threatens their survival and raises questions about evolution and humanity's role in it. The story is notable for its exploration of human-alien encounters and the complexities of colonization.
