Status Quo

Status Quo is a science fiction novel by Mack Reynolds, written in the early 1960s. It follows Lawrence Woolford, a government employee in Greater Washington, who is drawn into a conspiracy involving counterfeit money and a clandestine group known as 'the Movement.' As he investigates the origins of expertly reproduced fifty-dollar bills, Woolford grapples with themes of conformity, rebellion, and the nature of authority, ultimately questioning the societal norms that govern personal identity and social order.
