Siete Tragedias de Sófocles
Siete Tragedias de Sófocles, translated into Spanish by José Alemany Bolufer in 1921, compiles the seven surviving tragedies of the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles: Áyax, Electra, Edipo Rey, Edipo En Colono, Antígona, Las Traquinias, and Filoctetes. These works are significant as they represent the only remaining examples of the 123 tragedies attributed to Sophocles, who is considered one of the three great tragedians of ancient Greece alongside Aeschylus and Euripides. This collection showcases the themes of fate, morality, and the human condition that are central to Greek tragedy.
