Schatzgräber
Castle Scharneck is crumbling, not just its stones but the family itself. Burdened by crushing debts, Baron Wolfgang von Scharneck abandons honor for alchemy, desperate to replicate his grandfather's legendary gold. His daughter Mathilde watches her father descend into obsession while a faint hope arrives in the form of Waring, the wealthy banker's son who has purchased the neighboring estate. But the Baron refuses to allow his daughter to marry with empty hands, and so the legend awakens: a treasure, they say, hidden within the castle walls, recoverable only through forbidden arts. Then comes the stranger, cloaked in mystery, offering exactly what the Baron desires, and demanding a price that no one dare ask aloud. Salice-Contessa, a true Serapionsbrüder of E.T.A. Hoffmann's circle, weaves a tale where romantic longing collides with Gothic menace, where every glint of gold might be salvation or damnation. The treasure hunters gather, but who will find the gold, and who will be found by it?
