Satyricon
Satyricon, attributed to Gaius Petronius, is a Latin novel believed to have been written in the 1st century AD. This work combines prose and poetry to narrate the adventures of Encolpius and his lover Giton, exploring themes of love and fidelity amidst the backdrop of Roman society. As one of the few surviving examples of a Roman novel, it provides valuable insights into the lives of the lower classes during the early Roman Empire, alongside Apuleius's Metamorphoses.
