Roumanian Stories, Translated from the Original Roumanian

'Roumanian Stories,' translated from the original Roumanian by Lucy Byng and others, is a collection of early 20th-century short stories that introduces English-speaking readers to Romanian literature and culture. The anthology features narratives rich in poetic beauty and emotional depth, reflecting various aspects of Romanian life and social customs. Notable for its dedication to Romania's Queen and its exploration of themes such as love, nature, and the supernatural, the collection begins with 'The Fairy of the Lake' by M. Sadoveanu, setting the tone for the diverse tales that follow.
