Religion in the Heavens; Or, Mythology Unveiled in a Series of Lectures

Published in 1881, 'Religion in the Heavens; Or, Mythology Unveiled in a Series of Lectures' by Logan Mitchell critically examines the origins of religious myths, arguing that many are rooted in ancient astronomical beliefs. The author challenges established religious doctrines, asserting that miracles and divine interventions are fabrications derived from earlier pagan traditions. Mitchell emphasizes the role of fear and ignorance in empowering religious authorities, advocating for rational inquiry and skepticism towards supernatural claims. This work is notable for its controversial stance on religion and its historical context.
