Raiders of the Universes
In the 34th century, astronomer Phobar witnesses something no human has ever seen: the birth of new worlds in the constellation Hercules. But wonder curdles into terror when a dark star system emerges from the cosmic void, carrying with it the alien planet Xlarbti and its rapacious civilization. They have come for Earth's radium, and they will burn everything in their path to take it. Phobar is transported to the cold heart of the invaders' world, where he confronts technology beyond human comprehension and a society that views Earth as nothing more than a resource to be strip-mined. As the dark star creeps closer and humanity's doom becomes inevitable, one man must find a way to outthink beings whose minds have evolved across millennia of conquest. Raiders of the Universes is early pulp science fiction at its most ambitious: a tale that combines awe at the cosmos, dread of the unknown, and the stubborn belief that human ingenuity can overcome any threat, even one from the stars.
