Prozess

Prozess, written by Franz Kafka between 1883 and 1924 and published posthumously in 1925, follows Josef K., who is suddenly accused of an unspecified crime without being informed of the charges or the nature of the court. The narrative unfolds in a fragmented style, allowing for non-linear reading, and includes the famous parable 'Vor dem Gesetz.' Kafka's work, initially overlooked during his lifetime, has since become a cornerstone of world literature, giving rise to the term 'kafkaesk' to describe surreal and illogical situations in literature.
