Patruunan Palveluksessa: Näytelmä 3:ssa Näytöksessä

A drama written in the early 20th century. This play unfolds across three acts and delves into themes of ambition, temptation, and the social dynamics between the aristocracy and working class. The storyline revolves around Eetu, a young farmer's son, who longs for a better life and gets tangled in the alluring yet dangerous world of his employer, a patruuna (a landlord or estate owner). The plot centers on Eetu's desire to leave his humble beginnings behind, which leads him to accept a position as the patruuna's assistant. As he becomes entwined in the patruuna's household, he grapples with the temptation of the patruuna's charming wife, Ellen. The play explores not only Eetu's internal conflict regarding his ambitions and the responsibilities to his family left behind, but also the unfolding drama of Ellen's dissatisfaction with her marriage. As the story progresses, Eetu becomes embroiled in a web of deceit and emotional turmoil, leading to tragic consequences when the patruuna's health deteriorates and Ellen's true intentions are revealed. Ultimately, the narrative culminates in a poignant reflection on love, loyalty, and the moral complexities that arise from ambition and desire.
