Over the Plum Pudding
Published in the early 20th century, 'Over the Plum Pudding' by John Kendrick Bangs is a collection of humorous and fantastical short stories. The narrative revolves around Horace Wilkinson, an editor who humorously recounts the misadventures that prevented the publication of a Christmas anthology featuring contributions from famous authors like Rudyard Kipling. This work satirizes the literary world and the chaos of publishing, blending the spirit of Christmas with playful irony and whimsical storytelling.
