Of Vulgarity

Of Vulgarity is an analytical treatise written in the early 20th century by an unknown author that examines the concept of vulgarity in human behavior and society. It critiques social class distinctions, arguing that vulgarity stems from insensitivity and a lack of moral integrity, contrasting it with true gentlemanliness characterized by sensitivity and uprightness. The work serves as a profound moral critique of its time, using literary references to illustrate misconceptions of gentlemanliness across social classes and advocating for a deeper understanding of social ethics and aesthetics.
