New Thought Pastels

Ella Wheeler Wilcox wrote poems meant to be read as "pastels" - soft, luminous, meant to uplift. This collection distills the New Thought philosophy into verse: the radical idea that our thoughts shape our reality, that divine strength lives within us, and that love is the only eternal force. Poems like "Fear" personify doubt as an adversary to faith, while "Affirm" urges readers to claim their own existence with conviction. The collection breathes a singular conviction - that darkness is illusion, that death is transformation, that we are all connected to something vast and benevolent. Wilcox writes with the certainty of someone who believes language itself can remake the soul. For readers who find solace in Rumi or Mary Oliver, who are drawn to the idea that poetry can be a spiritual practice, these poems offer themselves as small acts of grace - bright, affirming, unapologetically hopeful.
