My Brigantine
My Brigantine is a poem by James Fenimore Cooper, included in his 1830 novel 'The Water-Witch'. The poem reflects Cooper's appreciation for sailing vessels, influenced by his own experiences as a midshipman in the U.S. Navy. While Cooper is primarily known for his novels, this work showcases his lesser-known talent for poetry. The poem was recorded by LibriVox volunteers as part of their Weekly Poetry project in December 2021.
