Master Mind of Mars, published in 1940, is the sixth installment in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom series. The story follows World War I captain Ulysses Paxton, who is transported to the planet Barsoom, where he confronts the evil scientist Ras Thavas and his sinister brain transplant experiments. Paxton's quest to save the beautiful Valla Dia, whose body has been swapped with the cruel Xaxa, forms the crux of this science fiction adventure, highlighting themes of love and sacrifice amidst interplanetary conflict.
