Frederick Temple Blackwood, Marquis of Dufferin and Ava
Letters from High Latitudes, written by Frederick Temple Blackwood, Marquis of Dufferin and Ava, in 1856, is a travelogue chronicling his voyage aboard the schooner yacht Foam to Iceland, Jan Mayen, and Spitzbergen. The narrative unfolds through letters addressed to his mother, capturing the challenges and adventures faced during the journey, including encounters with local Icelanders and the stunning Arctic landscapes.
