Les Trophées

''Les Trophées'' is a collection of poems by José-Maria de Heredia, first published in 1893. This work features themes of classical mythology, nature, and the human experience, expressed through vivid imagery and rich language. The collection opens with a dedicatory epistle to Heredia's mentor, Leconte de l'Isle, and the initial poem, ''L'Oubli,'' reflects on nostalgia for ancient Greece, exploring memory, loss, and the transient nature of life. Heredia's poetry gained significant acclaim, establishing him as a classic poet of his time.
