Legacy

Trigger Argee is the kind of protagonist who makes you forget science fiction used to forget women existed. At the Colonial School on Maccadon, she's already an expert with a handgun and something to prove when the plasmoids arrive, or rather, when the government starts lying about them. A grabber raid tears through her world, and suddenly Trigger isn't just a student anymore. She's a problem the authorities need contained. Doctor Plemponi and the missing Commissioner Tate know more than they're saying, and the Plasmoid Project hides secrets worth killing for. As Trigger digs deeper, she discovers that lineage is both a gift and a burden, and the truth might cost her everything. Schmitz builds a universe where a young woman with sharp skills and sharper instincts must navigate conspiracy, danger, and the weight of her own legacy. For readers who want sci-fi that moves.
